Nairobi - Onlookers looked in horror in Southern India as a Temple elephant went on a rampage, destroying a number of vehicles.
Footage has emerged on Tuesday of a distraught elephant destroying a number of parked vehicles outside a Temple in Kerala.
What is even more amazing is that the elephant had two riders on its back as it destroyed a rickshaw, a small truck and and a motorcycle.
According to mashable.com, the elephant’s name is Devidasan and it was participating in a religious festival. The elephant however broke its leach and quickly became unstable.
The two caretakers, that were riding Devidasan tried in to calm it down but were unable to stop the animal before it went on its rampage.
There were no injuries during the attack, however it took a number of hours to settle the elephant.
Kerala’s temples have been known for their poor conditions and there have been a number of reports of being chained and starved.
In February a six-year-old Zimbabwean boy was killed by an elephant while his sister watched helplessly.
According to the state-owned Herald newspaper, the boy was on his way home from pre-school, in the company of an elder sister and another minor, when they came across the elephant.
The trio tried to flee, but the huge elephant caught up with the young boy and trampled him, before disappearing in the direction of the Limpopo River.
