WATCH: Dogs say I do in India and 5 000 came to watch

15 March 2016, 14:23

New Delhi – Over 5 000 people attended a wedding between two loved dogs in Pawara village of Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi District, India on Saturday.

The marriage was held according to Hindu traditions and guests were welcomed enthusiastically, according to Asian News International (ANI). Wedding guests danced to the music of a DJ and were served traditional Indian food.

The ‘groom’ Shagun, belonging to Basant Tripathy, arrived in a car draped with flowers as guests danced in the packed street and some took their phones out to record the event.

Jung Bahadur, owner of the 'bride' Shaguniya, even shed some tears during the wedding ceremony.

“Although she is my dog, she is like my daughter,” said an emotional Bahadur, and also wished the couple a 'happy married life'.

The couple left together in a car after the wedding.
