Netanyahu: Israel hasn't given up on peace

Washington - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday told US
President Barack Obama that he had not given up on peace with
Palestinians, despite a surge of violence in recent weeks.
"We have not given up our hopes of peace," Netanyahu says at the
start of wide-ranging talks with Obama.
Israel remains committed to a two-state solution, but also remains
determined to protect itself against threats, he said.
Obama said the leaders would discuss "how we can lower the
temperature between the Israelis and Palestinians".
