Vreden - Sultan Kosen, the world's tallest man,
collected his new shoes from Georg Wessels in the far-west German
town of Vreden on the Dutch border on Tuesday in the company of two
other extremely tall men.
Kosen, a Turk who stands 2.51m in his socks, is 5cm taller than the Moroccan Brahim Takioullah at 2.46m, who is in the record books as the world's second tallest man.
The third was Abdramane Dembele from Ivory Coast, who is 2.32m.
Takioullah and Dembele live and work together near Paris.
Kosen, 33, says he has put the days of embarrassment at his height
behind him since his entry in the Guinness Book of Records.
Now he happily goes outside to talk to people and sign autographs.
"I'm a normal person, only a bit taller," he says.
Wessels has been making outsize shoes for years.
