Woman 'loses' scalp in freak chicken farm accident

02 September 2014, 23:00

Liaoning - A Chinese woman had her scalp reattached by surgeons after it was viciously ripped off after her hair got caught in a feeding machine on her families chicken farm, the Mirror reports.

The gruesome accident took place after Zhang Lan was working on the machine by herself. Lan managed to get away from the machine after her long hair was caught in it, she then called her family who rushed her to hospital.

Doctors at the hospital needed to clean the skin and that had been removed by the machine prior to attaching it back. Lan's skin from her eyebrows to the back of her neck was ripped off, she is in a stable condition in hospital.
