United Nations - The U.N. Security Council has refused to delay the International Criminal Court trial of president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on crimes against humanity.
A resolution backed by the African Union that would have delayed the trials of President Kenyatta and Ruto for a year failed to get the minimum nine "yes" votes needed for approval in the 15-member council.
There were seven "yes" votes and eight abstentions in Friday's vote, so the resolution was rejected.
