Kabul - A roadside bomb hit a bus carrying Afghan police academy staff on Monday, killing three officers and injuring three more in the east of the country, an official said.
"The bomb was placed on the route of the academy staff bus on the outskirts of Jalalabad city, near the Behsood district," said Hazrat Hussain Mashreqiwal, police spokesperson for Nangarhar province.
Mashreqiwal said that six officers were injured, while "three of them lost their lives in the hospital".
Taliban militants claimed responsibility for the bombing.
The insurgents' attacks on Afghan security forces have increased as the national troops are de to take over full security responsibilities when the Nato-led international combat troops withdraw at the end of December.
