Remains of flight MH17 victims arrive in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur - The remains of three Malaysians on a commercial airliner that was allegedly shot down by Ukrainian rebels arrived Sunday in Kuala Lumpur.
Two of the victims were identified as Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 chief steward Mohd Ghafar Abu Bakar and passenger Ng Shi Ing, a university lecturer, according to Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai.
The identity of the third was withheld at the request of the family.
The nation observed a day of mourning Friday to coincide with the arrival of the remains of 20 citizens aboard the plane that crashed in the Ukraine on July 17.
Forty three of the 298 people on the flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur were Malaysian citizens.
A multinational team of forensic experts in the Netherlands is conducting DNA tests on the human remains recovered from the crash site.
