Monrovia, California - A 6-month-old baby remains hospitalized after a Great Dane grabbed her from her mother's arms and ran off in a Los Angeles suburb.
Monrovia police Captain Jim Hunt says the child is in a serious condition on Wednesday with a punctured lung, punctured liver and two broken ribs. She's expected to survive.
Hunt says the mother visited a neighbor on Monday and was talking on the front porch with her daughter on her shoulder when the huge dog rushed out the door, grabbed the child and ran off.
The adults chased the dog about 100m before it dropped the child and ran home.
Hunt says the 77kg dog has no history of aggressive behavior.
