Mumbai - A fire brigade official says at least three people died and six more were injured when a vehicle bridge being built near the Mumbai international airport collapsed.
The official said the victims were mainly workers at the construction site. The injured have been hospitalised.
The official said the cause of the collapse was being investigated. He spoke on Thursday on condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to talk to reporters.
Work at the construction site has been going on for two years.
Poor construction material and inadequate foundations are often blamed for building collapses in India.
