San Juan - Federal authorities have seized $50m worth of cocaine after intercepting a boat off Puerto Rico's north coast.
US prosecutor Carlos Cardona said on Wednesday that more than 1.7 tons of cocaine were found aboard a boat headed toward the north coastal town of Dorado.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement said authorities are still investigating where the boat had departed from as it headed toward the US territory. Two people have been arrested.
Authorities said Monday's seizure is among the largest in Puerto Rico in recent years.
