Warsaw — A prosecutor says two businessmen and two waiters have been charged over the illegal taping of Polish government ministers and business people in restaurants.
Some government ministers have resigned over the scandal that broke last year when a magazine published transcripts of some of the conversations that took place in 2013 and 2014. The public was shocked to hear the officials' views and foul language.
Renata Mazur, a spokeswoman for Warsaw prosecutors, said Friday that the indictment against the four has been sent to court. They are charged with illegal taping of private conversations and making them available to the general public.
Mazur said some 97 people have been identified in 66 conversations.
It was not immediately clear when the trial would open.
