WRAP: Tusker maintain 5 point KPL lead despite draw

18 July 2016, 11:48 Dennis Masinde

Nairobi - Tusker FC retain 5 point KPL lead despite being held by Chemelil Sugar.

The brewers looked set to extend their lead to a massive seven points after taking a 2-1 lead against the sugar millers in Machakos with three minutes to go but conceded at the death to end up with a 2-2 draw Sunday.

The result was however vindicated at the end of the day after Gor Mahia failed to capitalise on the dropped points after also being held to a 0-0 draw by Ushuru at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Third place Mathare United drew 1-1 with AFC Leopards while Ulinzi Stars suffered the same fate, drawing 1-1 with Nairobi City Stars after dominating the game.

All teams have played 18 league matches to this point.
