'Why I joined Gor Mahia'

16 June 2016, 14:33

Nairobi - New Gor Mahia signing Thiago de Lima Silva has targeted silverware in his first season with the defending Kenyan Premier League champions.

The Brazilian joined K'Ogalo last week as a replacement for Rwanda international Maddie Kagere, who failed to agree new terms Nairobi giants.

"I want to win many championships with Gor Mahia. For me it will be very good that I play football with mentality of winning titles," Silva told Soka.

"I want to win more with Gor Mahia, it's a big club with a large fan base and I look forward to that. I am here to work hard in training, to impress the technical bench for a starting berth.

"I know they have good players, good strikers but I know I will get time to play. I have watched the club on YouTube, I saw it's the biggest club around with good players hence couldn't turn down the offer."

Silva could make his debut against Tusker FC in the semi-final, first leg of their KPL Top 8 clash at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
