Weary Stars lose in Cape Verde

18 November 2015, 09:35

Nairobi - Harambee Stars are out of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers after losing 2-0 to Cape Verde in the second round return leg clash in Praia on Tuesday.

Carrying a one goal lead from the first leg, Stars were up against it from the get go having landed in Praia only hours before kickoff after a host of problems back home delayed their arrival.

A row over allowances and poor travel arrangements saw a weary team take to the field and though they battled manfully for the opening 40 minutes, a Heldon Ramos brace saw them lose 2-1 on aggregate.

Coach Bobby Williamson made one change to his line up with Collins Okoth replacing the suspended Teddy Akumu in the heart of midfield.
