WATCH: Ronaldo throws reporter's microphone into lake

22 June 2016, 15:32

Cape Town - It has been a tournament to forget so far for Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, and things got even worse for him on Wednesday.

The Real Madrid star was approached by a television reporter during a team walk, and instead of asking the journalist to leave him alone, Ronaldo had other ideas.

Without saying a word, the 31-year-old Ronaldo grabbed the microphone out of the reporter's hands and threw it into a nearby lake.

Ronaldo, captain of the Portugese national side, has been under pressure at the tournament with his side having drawn both of their matches.

Ronaldo missed a crucial penalty in last week's 0-0 draw against Austria after he had openly criticised Iceland's 'small mentality' following a 1-1 draw in Portugal's tournament opener.

Portugal now go into Wednesday night's clash against Hungary needing a win to ensure qualification to the last 16.
