Timbe denies he is a selfish player

Nairobi - Kenya international Ayub Timbe Masika has dismissed the notion that he
is not a team player, after getting on the score-sheet against Zambia at
The 23-year-old Masika grabbed the opening strike for the Harambee Stars in the 1-1 draw with Chipolopolo on Sunday.
The Kenyans had a disappointing run in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Group E, recording one win, one draw and three losses.
"Normally most people expect wingers to assist goals in a game of
football but football has changed whereby you see wingers also scoring,"
Masika told Soka.
"If I have a chance to penetrate the defence and score then I will do
it but again in a team, there are two things; individual and team work,
both go hand in hand, a team wins at times because of individual
brilliance or teamwork.
"I always work hard to get a better result in any game. I am happy to
score for the country again as it keeps my CV high to continue doing my
best hoping for better things.
"We almost snatched a win in Zambia, having held them for the better
part of the game, but that last-minute goal denied us what could have
been a deserved win."
Masika currently plies his trade in Belgium's second division, having
joined Lierse SK from Belgian Pro League outfit Genk on a three-year
deal in July.
