Sserenkuma blasts Gor defenders

Nairobi - Bandari attacker Dan Sserenkuma has lambasted the opposition's defensive
strategy after he was left battered and bruised following the Dstv
Super Cup clash against Gor Mahia.
Bandari secured the trophy after a 1-0 win at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa on Saturday.
Midfielder Anthony Kimani scored the winning goal for Bandari, but
Sserenkuma criticised the tough-tackling defenders after being offered
very little protection by the referee.
"I expected it to be a difficult match and it really was. You could
see that I was a marked man throughout the game and I was worried that I
would get a bad injury if I went all out," Sserenkuma told Soka.
"By half-time I was limping because of the many deliberate knocks I had received from these guys.
"During half-time, the coach asked me if I wanted to go on and I said
'yes I will continue' even though I was hurting physically. The Gor
defenders did not relent on their treatment on me and that is when the
coach decided to let me rest.
"I am glad that we won, because it wasn't an easy match. The victory
gives us confidence and shows what we can play and beat any team at any
level including league champions."
