Omagbemi confident Super Falcons will defend African title

04 April 2016, 16:35

Lagos - Super Falcons Head Coach Florence Omagbemi has expressed confidence that the team will not only scale the Senegalese hurdle, but go ahead to successfully defend their African crown in Cameroon later in the year.

"Like I said before, we are the defending champions, and we just have to be really prepared so that we can remain on top. Most teams in Africa want to beat Nigeria, and we will not let that happen.”

In a chat with thenff.com, Omagbemi expressed happiness over the quality of players in the team after a warm up game against FC Eaglenet of Lugbe, Abuja at the Package B of the FIFA Goal Project, which the Falcons won 1-0.

She added: "The way we are now, we are ready for Senegal. We are ready to go in there and do our best. The pool of players we have in camp now, if any of them is called upon to play, I am very sure that player will deliver."
