Nairobi - Muhoroni Youth striker Wycliffe Ochomo has been named as the best player in Kenya's Premier League for the month of April.
The powerful Ochomo is the league's leading marksman, with nine goals to his name, four of those coming last month.
The 23-year-old beat off fellow candidates Eric Johanna of Mathare
United, Jacques Tuyisenge of Gor Mahia and John Makwata of Ulinzi Stars
with ease to pick up the award.
His achievements in the league have also resulted in a fourth call-up for the national team.
"I knew someday I would be recognized if I worked hard enough. This
year has been good for me and I thank the entire team for helping me
score the goals and move the team up the table," he said.
"The national team call up shows how vastly I have improved and I
have to work even harder to leave a mark at that level. I trust that the
good fortune will continue and I will perform even better.
"If I'm given a chance in the national team it would be upon me to establish a starting role."
