Mohammed rues CAF loss

15 February 2016, 12:38

Nairobi - Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed admitted his dismay after the 2-1 loss to CNaPS Sport in the CAF Champions League preliminary round at the Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.

Gor will have been dissatisfied by the start to their continental season, with the domestic league champions set to start their Kenyan Premier League title defence next week.

Mohammed is wary of the setback of the first-leg defeat after conceding the two goals at home in the continental competition.

"We are very disappointed with this loss. We simply did not take the chances we got and our opponents showed more belief and took their chances," Mohammed told Soka.

"I still believe we have a chance and all is not lost. We have two weeks to look back at the match and know where we went wrong and correct. It has been our desire to progress further than the first round and it will not be good exiting at the preliminaries."

Before travelling to Madagascar for the second leg in a fortnight, Gor will face Chemelil Sugar in their league opener at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Wednesday.
