Manchester United reignite interest in Matthew Olosunde

09 December 2015, 15:20

Abuja - English Premier League side Manchester United are working on a deal to sign the highly-rated Nigerian-American youngster Matthew Olosunde, according to a report in the English press.

The United States Under 17 international trained with the Red Devils in July but the club have kept mum on his status until now.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Matthew Olosunde will be offered a contract by Manchester United subject to work permits and international

The New York Red Bulls stopper started the United States' first Group A fixture against Nigeria at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup but was substituted
in the 67th minute after picking up an injury which curtailed his appearances in the tournament.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Olosunde is comfortable playing across the back line including center back and right-back, and first trained with
the USA U-14s before he was promoted to the Under 17 squad.

If the transfer materializes, he will join Nigerian midfielder Tosin Kehinde at the Old Trafford outfit.
