Leopards tackle ill-dicipline

18 January 2016, 11:51

Nairobi - AFC Leopards have put stringent measures in place to curb ill-discipline in the senior team ahead of the 2016 season.

The SportPesa Premier League club has ordered the players to re-apply for their jobs as the team will be trimmed down to 25.

Financial constraints have also forced Leopards to reduce the wage bill by renegotiating new contracts with players that make the cut.

Club deputy chairman Dan Mule revealed that the management had undertaken a resolution to only sign committed players.

"It's true we have asked everyone to apply a fresh," Mule told Soka25east. "During the course of last season the team was characterized by indiscipline, with players failing to attend training and threatening to boycott matches.

"The new move is aimed at taming this kind of behavior as we look forward to a new season."
