Nairobi - Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is refusing to comment on speculation
linking midfielder Victor Wanyama with a move away from the club in
The Kenya international is available for selection this weekend after
completing a two-match suspension, but it is not yet clear whether the
24-year-old will go straight back into the starting line-up at the
expense of Oriol Romeu.
Romeu produced an impressive performance in the 2-0 victory over
Watford in midweek, prompting questions over who would take to the pitch
against West Brom.
"As always, I will tell the players before the press, but we have real competition in the squad," Koeman said.
"He (Wanyama) is okay. He was suspended, did his training sessions and is a player of Southampton.
"I don't speak about rumours every day in the press, because it's not necessary to tell everybody the same answer."
Another player whose future has been the subject of conjecture is
striker Graziano Pelle, and Koeman insists the Italy international is
going nowhere in the current transfer window.
"He is totally involved in Southampton and I read also the
newspapers, but that's your business, my business is to prepare the team
and Graziano is a Southampton player," Koeman added.
