Gor left in the dark in the wake of Nuttal exit

08 March 2016, 16:52

Nairobi - Gor Mahia club secretary Ronald Ngala has confirmed that the process to find a replacement for the departed coach Frank Nuttall is under way.

The Kenyan giants are reportedly without a coach after Nuttall left to join Zamalek in Egypt in the capacity of assistant coach to fellow Scotsman Alex McLeish.

"We have not officially been informed of the development. We are also reading from social media the reports that he has left. The only follow up we have made is calling him but his phone is not reachable," Ngala told Soka.

"We just have to move on, if at all the reports that he has left are true. That means we have to set sights on someone else to come in a similar capacity as soon as possible.

The club has since been linked with Spanish tactician Antonio Flores as a replacement for Nuttall.

"All I can say is that the coach is awaiting a call from Kenya to come for negotiations and if they agree, he'll join the club," a source close to the situation said.

"He is ready and willing to take over at the club. He has the experience and technical know-how that Kenyan and in particular Gor fans would want to see."
