Durban - Ahead of their clash against Bafana Bafana, Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan believes South Africa will have an advantage over the Black Stars due to their home ground advantage.
The Black Stars will renew their rivalry with Bafana in a friendly encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night (19:00 kick-off).
Heading into the encounter, Ghana are coming off a goalless draw against Uganda in the 2018 Soccer World Cup Qualifiers while Bafana shared the spoils (1-1) against Burkina Faso at the weekend.
Gyan, however, hinted that it will be a well-balanced game between the two perennial rivals as both sides have sufficient depth in their squad.
The former Sunderland striker also said that the Black Stars have adopted South Africa as their second home following their heroics in the 2010 World Cup when they narrowly missed out on reaching the semi-finals.
“We always feel at home whenever we play in South Africa,” Gyan insisted at a press conference.
“Bafana Bafana is a good team and they have quality players within their squad.
“I have been watching them for a while and their players are very skilful.
“They’ll be playing at home and their fans will be behind them all the way, we are also a quality team and it’ll be a tough game.
“I believe that it’ll be a well-balanced game.”
The last time the two sides clashed was back in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea where Ghana triumphed 2-1 to eliminate Bafana in the group stages.
