DCI recommends Nyamweya prosecution

30 December 2015, 18:09

Nairobi - After a year of tribulations with in house revolt, wrangling and tough campaigns against him, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president is not going to finish the year well, with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) clearing the air for his prosecution.

Nyamweya has not had an easy time with accusations of corruption and mismanagement of funds at the federation and once again his name popped up at the wrong place with the office of the DCI investigating a scam that was the saga of the national team failing to travel to Cape Verde in time for the 2018 World Cup qualifier in November.

The DCI also recommends that his key lieutenants, FKF CEO Michael Esakwa and acting Finance Manager be prosecuted along with Nyamweya for apparent misuse of funds.
