Nairobi - Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has once again stated that he has no intention of leaving Chelsea any time soon despite his comments about wanting to return to Spain.
Last month, Courtois said that he loved everything about Spain and was interested in coming back to the country.
"Yes, but not only for the club (Atletico), but how Madrid is and the whole country," he had told Marca.
"From the first minute I fell in love with Spain for its people, lifestyle, food... I still maintain eating dinner and then an afternoon nap, most of the television I see is Spanish... I am half Spanish."
In an attempt to clear up what he said, Courtois confirmed that he would look to return to the La Liga later on in his career, but added that he is happy to be at Stamford Bridge for now.
Courtois won the La Liga title with Atletico Madrid in 2014 and has already been linked with a move to Real Madrid this season.
"I understand the commotion with the Chelsea fans," the Belgium international was quoted as saying by The Mirror. "But I just meant that I want to return to Spain one day, but it can also be after my career.
"I'm happy to be at Chelsea. For how long, we will see. But now I want to win prizes with this club."
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Genk in 2011, but only made his Blues’ debut in August 2014 as he was loaned out to Atletico.
