Nairobi - Christian Benteke says the club's acquisition of his brother by Crystal Palace has nothing to do with his recent arrival at Selhurst Park.
"He has been training really well," the Belgium international told the Evening Standard.
"It is not because he is my brother. He had a few minutes on the pitch and I am sure he enjoyed it."
Jonathan Benteke joined the Eagles shortly after his brother's £27m club record signing and upon his arrival, Alan Pardew lavished praised on the 21-year-old.
"He is a young striker with natural talent and they are not easy to find. We checked him out and liked the look of him," Pardew told reporters.
"It was an opportunity for us that he is so young and relatively cheap to take a chance on."
Jonathan made his debut in the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon at the Riverside.
