Nairobi - St. Elloi Lupopo defender Junior Baometu has expressed his admiration for Bandari FC winger Shabaan Kenga after doing battle with him over the weekend.
Lupopo from Congo advanced to the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup after a 3-1 aggregate win over Bandari.
Baometu was impressed with the skill and ability exhibited by Kenga during their clash against the Kenyans.
"They are a strong team with good characters and they gave us a very tough time over the two legs. There is one player, the short winger. He was their best player. He gave us a lot of hard time in defense," Baometu told Soka.
"We respect every team and we need to work hard in every step. This is now behind us and our focus should be on the next round. Every team is tough and we don't expect it easy. The best thing for us, and it is what we did against Bandari, is ensuring we play well and win at home."
Lupopo will face Al Ahly Shendy from Sudan in the next round.
