Williamson rallies Harambee Stars fans

23 June 2015, 12:11

Nairobi - Kenyan coach Bobby Williamson admits the nation's supporters could prove the difference during the second leg of their African Nations Championship qualifier against Ethiopia.

The tactician has urged fans of the Harambee Stars to come out in numbers to support the team when they host the Walia Antelopes in Nairobi in a fortnight.

However, their backs will be against the wall as the Kenyans attempt to overturn a 2-0 deficit after the loss they suffered at the weekend, leaving Williamson keen on a full house in the capital next month.

"We will need the fans especially to help us across the line," Williamson told SuperSport.

"If you saw (Ethiopia's) fans, they did a great job. They made life hard for us and completely made a difference in morale levels for their players.

"We will need the same. We will be ready for the match but if our fans can show up, I am confident we will do well.

"I urge the fans to come out and support the boys. We can do well if we hold hands and move in the same direction."
