Were staying put at Tusker FC

21 November 2013, 12:36

Nairobi - Jesse Were has no intention of leaving Tusker FC in the current off-season.

The striker has had a top season at the Ruaraka club, coming second in the Kenyan Premier League goalscoring charts, only falling behind to the excellent Jacob Keli.

Despite stories of the departure of head coach Robert Matano and other key players rife, Were says he is happy at the club.

" I'm happy at the club and have no intention of moving, he said.

" Things are great and I have had a very good season here despite the bad season for the club overall. Were it not for bad luck, I would have been the top scorer in the KPL.

" I have a contract here and will honour it unless otherwise. I look forward to helping the club in the coming seasons, he added.

Were scored 15 goals in the KPL this season.
