Were hoping to impress

Nairobi - Tusker FC striker Jesse Were is happy to be in the Harambee Stars squad for the weekend clash with Namibia and hopes to make an impression if he plays.
Were was part of a 27-man squad chosen to head to camp in preparation for the final group F 2014 World Cup qualifier versus Namibia. The lanky striker has had a stellar season in the Kenyan Premier League, which has seen him produce 14 goals.
He has, however, been in the cold in the national team, with head coach Adel Amrouche choosing not to take him on for previous encounters despite his form. For the Namibia clash, though, he will get his chance and is looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the country’s best players.
