Were hails 'incredible' Ingwe

12 June 2014, 15:02

Nairobi - AFC Leopards striker Paul Were has lauded his side's "incredible performance" after they cruised into the Kenyan Premier League Top 8 final with a 3-0 win over KCB on Wednesday.

The two sides clashed at the Nyayo National Stadium in the semi-final second leg this week with the scores finely balanced at 1-1, but showed their class in front of their own fans to eventually secure a 4-1 aggregate win.

And, having now set up a final against defending champions and Kenyan giants Tusker, Were, who set up two of his side's goals against the Bankers, expressed his delight at Leopards' achievements so far.

"That was an incredible performance. You could see the fighting spirit from the onset and the scoring opportunities just presented themselves. To be frank we are enjoying each and every moment we are on the pitch," said Were.

"We are in the final against a very tough team. But we are motivated by the fact that this is a chance to win our first silverware this year. We need to remain focused and determined."
