Were battling to be fit for Gor clash

14 November 2013, 11:03

Nairobi - AFC Leopards SC speedy winger Paul Were is battling to be fit in time to face bitter rivals Gor Mahia FC in the GOtv Shield final match set to be played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 17 November.

Were is nursing an injury he sustained in Ingwe’s 2-1 win over Kakamega Homeboyz in what was the side’s last match of the 2013 season on Saturday 9 November, but he hopes to recover in time to face Gor Mahia on Sunday.

“I’m still nursing the ankle injury I picked up against Homeboyz on Saturday, but I hope to be well before the crucial match against Gor Mahia on Sunday,” Were said.
