Wanyama admits sad day for Kenyan football

Nairobi - Victor Wanyama admitted it was a "bad day" for Kenyan football after they saw their AFCON qualifying campaign ended on Sunday.
The Harambee Stars hosted their continental rivals at the Nyayo
National Stadium trailing by a goal from the first leg, but were unable
to find a way through in front of their home fans as Sunday's return
fixture ended 0-0.
Speaking after the goalless draw, a dejected
Wanyama said: "Today (Sunday) was a bad day for us; we have let our fans
and Kenyans at large down. We played a good game but luck was not on
our side because we created many chances."
Dennis Oliech, who
missed a golden chance to force extra time in the closing stages in
Nairobi, echoed his team-mate's sentiments, adding: "We have let Kenyans
down we are sorry.
"We now have to go back to the drawing board
and hope to qualify in the next competition, but it's sad we have to
wait for two years."
