Wanga wins CECAFA Kagame Cup for Al Merreikh

Nairobi - Harambee Stars striker Allan Wanga was the hero as Sudan's Al Merreikh won the CECAFA Kagame Cup, beating Rwanda's APR 1-0.
The striker, who has been in top form in the tournament, ensured they would finish top of the pile with a neat 24th minute finish to seal the win in edition number 30 of the competition at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda, Sunday.
The win saw Al Merreikh bag the top prize of US$ 30,000 while APR, by virtue of being second, bagged US$ 20,000 then Police, another Rwandese side, who finished third took home US$10,000.
Kenya's Gor Mahia was bundled out of the competition in the group stages.
