Nairobi - Godfrey Walusimbi is looking forward to playing a major part for Gor Mahia after joining the Kenyan Premier League champions.
The SC Villa defender has signed a two year deal at the club and he says he is looking forward to joining a marquee club.
" I'm looking forward to joining a great club like Gor Mahia. It is a big move for me, he said.
" They just won the Premier League and have a very good coach and some top players so I was interested in joining them from the word go.
" Hopefully this will be a successful stay here, he added.
Walusimbi also admitted that he had been convinced to make the move by former Uganda Cranes coach Bobby Williamson.
" He was a factor in my move, he added.
" I have worked with him for a couple of years and know him well, so it was an easy decision for me to make, he added.
Walusimbi joins fellow Ugandans Dan Sserunkuma and Israel Emuge at the club.
