Two midweek matches in KPL

09 June 2014, 11:40

Nairobi - The Kenya Premier League (KPL) has announced only two midweek matches will be played this week.

The matches will be played on Monday and Wednesday.

Bandari will host Chemelil Sugar in what is likely to be a tight match likely that nonetheless is projected to go Chemelil Sugar's way.

Chemelil Sugar are placed fifth on the league log with 22 points from 13 matches while embattled Bandari are 12th with 14 points from the same number of games played.

While both clubs were inactive over the weekend, Chemelil Sugar defence looked water-tight as opposed to Bandari's leaking defence, which conceded 15 goals against Chemelil's five.

In another match schedule for midweek, on Wednesday, on-form AFC Leopards host Western Stima in a match Ingwe, as the former are otherwise known, are widely tipped to win.

Judging from their form obtained at the highly rated-CECAFA Nile Basin regional tournament as well as their convincing 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Gor Mahia on Saturday, Leopards look certain to pocket the three vital points when the two sides clash.

The two midweek matches are likely to be full of action as all the four clubs are fighting different battles while others fight to win the title, others will be battling to survive demotion.
