Tusker title chase in tatters after Ulinzi loss

25 September 2014, 18:46

Nairobi - Tusker FC lost their title momentum after losing to Ulinzi Stars in Kenyan Premier League action.

The brewers went down 2-1 to Ulinzi at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru Thursday afternoon as they failed to close the gap on leaders Gor Mahia.

Evans Amuoka gave Ulinzi the lead in the first half but Tusker hit back through Ishmael Dunga on resumption of the second half only for Ulinzi to win the match thanks to captain Stephen Ocholla late in the game.

The loss means Tusker are on 42 points with five games left to play, six behind Gor who are on 48.

It means that the brewers must win all their five remaining matches with Gor and Sofapaka who are second on 46 dropping valuable points for them to have a sniff of the title.
