Nairobi - Tusker FC are attempting to water down the ugly scenes which followed their 1-1 draw with Top Fry All Stars on Wednesday.
Following the final whistle at the Afraha stadium, the Brewers
players as well as head coach Francis Kimanzi, confronted match referee
George Mwai, who they felt was guilty of ‘biased officiating’.
Police came on to the field to intervene, but Tusker chairman James
Musyoki has denied that anyone from his club was guilty of violent
Musyoki claims that Mwai was to blame, and according to the Nation website, Tusker will be lodging an official complaint against the officiating.
"There was no such thing as violence at the game. The players only
sought to ask the referee why he made many biased calls against us, a
matter we will take up with KPL," Musyoki was quoted as saying.
The Kenya Premier League (KPL) is yet to officially comment on the
matter, which also saw a red card handed to Brewers player Osbourne
