Thika coach Kamau considers transfer options

11 June 2014, 16:18

Nairobi - Thika United coach John Kamau admits he could consider bringing fresh faces on board during the transfer period.

United have struggled to make the most of their Kenyan Premier League matches as they head towards the half-way point of the season, having managed just four wins from their opening 14 games, drawing seven and losing three.

Those results have left the side eighth in the standings and 10 points behind leaders and defending champions Gor Mahia, leading Kamau to consider his options at the Thika- based outfit.

"At the moment all I can say is that I am comfortable with the set of players I have in my possession," the coach said.

"I have an all-round team and that for a coach is gratifying enough. However, I can't say I will not sign any player; this is the time every coach will want to strengthen his team and I am no exception.

"I have a number of players I am looking to sign in the current transfer period if we agree, about two or three new additions. I still can't reveal their identity but I believe they will be good additions to the team."
