Tenga: CECAFA needs the fans

Nairobi - CECAFA president Leodegar Tenga has called on Kenyans to turn up for the Challenge Cup in numbers, saying that without them, it will be a failure.
The tournament returns to Kenya after a four year hiatus and has been billed as one to watch out for in terms of football action by many pundits and players alike.
There are fears though that fan turnout will be an issue considering what happened in 2009 when the turnout by local fans was very poor.
Tenga has vivid memories of 2009 and hopes that this time there will be no repeat of that event.
"The fans make the championship not just the footballers and organisers.
"We need the fans to turn up and in large numbers to make the tournament a success. Without them, we are nothing. We are useless without their input and so I hope they can give us a boost," he said.
The tourney kicks off Wednesday with two matches on the cards.
