Nairobi - SoNy Sugar chairman Paul Orato has confirmed the club have parted ways
with head coach Zedekiah Otieno following their dire run of form this
The Awendo-based outfit find themselves hovering just three points
above the Kenyan Premier League relegation zone after suffering 10
defeats in their opening 18 matches.
And, Sunday's 1-0 loss to Bandari, which made it 10 matches without a
win, proved to be the last straw for the club, who have since sent
"We have not got the desired results for a long time and as
management we felt it was the right time for us to effect changes
because the outcome of our matches was not palatable to the club and the
supporters," Orato told The Star.
"Its not that the coach was solely the problem. Maybe as a management we gave him 80 percent of what he needed to succeed.
"When we talked to Zico we let him know the results the team was
churning out were injurious to his coaching career regardless of who was
