Suarez confirms fitness for England clash

striker Luis Suarez is confident he will perform to the best of his
abilities when his country plays against England in a crucial Group D
fixture at Sao Paulo on Thursday.
The Liverpool marksman has been grappling with a knee injury for a
protracted period and missed his country's opening day defeat to Costa
However, he insists that he has now fully recovered from it and ready to make his Brazil 2014 bow.
"I was looking forward to getting involved and I wanted to help
[against Costa Rica] but maybe it was better I didn’t because fate could
have played a trick on me and set me back again," Suarez told reporters
"But I’ve done everything I had to do. I haven’t missed a day of
recovery time and I’m 100 per cent fit, otherwise I wouldn’t be here,"
added Uruguay’s talisman.
"I’m training with the team again and I feel in good condition. I
never lost the joy and the desire and I never thought I was going to
lose out on playing in the World Cup because of injury."
Italy play Costa Rica in Recife this coming Friday, before they end their Group D campaign in Natal against Oscar Tabarez’s men.
