Sserunkuma to return to Gor Mahia

15 May 2015, 13:24

Nairobi - Gor Mahia have re-signed Ugandan striker Dan Sserunkuma who recently ended his contract with Tanzanian club Simba SC.

According to Goal.com, Sserunkuma has agreed to rejoin K’Ogalo after he ended terminated his two-year deal with Simba SC on Monday.

This ends speculation that the 25-year-old would be moving to K’Ogalo's rival AFC Leopards or an overseas-based club.

Gor Mahia official Anima Ferrari confirmed that Sserunkuma is on his way back to the club which he previously represented from 2012 to 2014.

“We have agreed to re-sign Sserunkuma but other details will be out before end of the week," he told Goal.

Sserunkuma will be available to turn out for us at the start of second leg in June.”

Ferrari also confirmed that to accommodate Sserunkuma the club will be forced one of its other foreigners.

“The coach will make up a decision on who to be dropped," he added.

"You know very clearly that a club in Kenyan Premier League is entitled to five foreigners and with the arrival of Sserunkuma we have six.

“This will be done before the second leg starts. I am happy that Sserunkuma as decided to return home.

"We all love him having helped us to two league titles and his return will boost our quest for a third consecutive title.”
