Sserunkuma strikes, lifts Uganda Cranes to victory

29 November 2013, 19:50

Nairobi - Danny Sserunkuma was the hero for the Uganda Cranes as his lone goal secured a much needed win for the defending champions in the CECAFA Challenge Cup, Friday.

It was an entertaining match at the Nyayo National Stadium with both sides creating good scoring chances.

The Gor Mahia striker though was the match-winner, making no mistake on the 88 minutes when he latched on a Said Kyeyune through pass to notch past the keeper for the only goal of the game.

The win sees the Cranes move to second place in group C with three points but are behind Sudan, who beat Eritrea 3-0, on goal difference.
