Sserunkuma happy to remain at Gor Mahia

29 January 2014, 12:38

Nairobi - Danny Sserunkuma is happy to stay at Gor Mahia despite a move to Europe in the off-season falling through.

The Ugandan striker was heavily linked with a move to Albania in December, even travelling to the eastern European country but despite the effort made, the deal fell through with Gor asking for a high transfer fee.

Despite the move failing to happen, the striker has started the season well for Gor, scoring in a number of friendly matches thus far.

He says that he is focused on helping Gor achieve their targets for the season.

" It is sad that I was not able to leave for Europe but that is the nature of the game, he said.

" Now I am at Gor Mahia and nothing can change as far as that is concerned. All I can do is work hard and try my best to be a good player for the club.

" There are many competitions to look forward to and as always I hope for the very best for myself and the club, he added.

Gor will take part in the CAF Champions League, defend their Kenyan Premier League title, the KPL Top 8, the Gotv Shield and the DSTV Super Cup.
