Sony Sugar stun Thika

19 August 2013, 13:17

Nairobi - Thika United’s drop down the table continued on Sunday after a 1-0 home loss to Sony Sugar in a Kenyan Premier League clash at the Thika Municipal Stadium.

Thika started the more ambitious of the two, a forward surge in the third minute won them a corner that was taken short to Wycliffe Opondo and his in-swinger was met by Allison Dweh but his header went narrowly wide.

Thika launched another attack in the 10th minute but in Allison’s bid to go for the kill, he collided with the keeper and in the process another golden opportunity went begging. The visitors got a chance to test their attacking prowess when they won a free-kick after Moses Arita was fouled on the edge of the box but Marwa Chamberi hit it straight at the keeper.
