Nairobi - Premier league side, Sofapaka, plans to relocate its training base to their newly-built Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos ahead of the new season.
The team is currently training at Eastleigh Boys Secondary School.
Ahead of the new season, head coach Sam Timbe assured the home fans the team will challenge for the title.
“The fixtures are out and you can see Sofapaka home ground is Machakos, so we want the game to go to the people of Machakos they dint have a vision of their top players in the country, now if we play in Machakos we shall be taking the game to the people, which is good,” he said.
“We have tried to catch up with time because it is getting closer, the turn of players has not been very satisfactory but at least now there is some good sign by next week they will be in and I will begin my work, I thank God for that and we are preparing well,” added the coach.
The assistant coach, Phillip Mulamba, concurred the team would challenge for the title.
“We are going for the league and are not going to leave anything to chance,” he added.
